Harvest Trust is a national UK charity which organises simple seaside holidays for disadvantaged children.

The holidays take place between April and October each year and are specially for groups of 8 to 11 year olds who really need a week away.

Based at the Trust’s own Holiday Centre near Cardigan Bay in West Wales, the holidays are arranged in partnership with schools, youth and community groups.

Since 1986 we’ve developed a unique and effective holiday experience for children in real need of a break.

There can be many reasons why a child might need a Harvest Trust holiday. The most common needs are low family income, poor environment and traumatic lives. Some children need a break from neglect, violence or caring for a sick parent.

Harvest Trust specialises in simple, ‘no pressure’ holidays which particularly benefit withdrawn children with low self esteem who need space and encouragement to build confidence.

However, it is important to stress that the holidays are not suitable for children with attention deficit disorders or other behavioural problems. These children need holidays with a one to one adult to child ratio.
